Coronavirus Vaccine

GPs in the South Hardwick PCN area have worked hard to finalise the location for the initial vaccination hub which is at Sharley Park Leisure Centre in Clay Cross. The set up of this has been the subject of very stringent rules and regulations and we are pleased to finally be able to start vaccinating. The hub is shared by the 9 GP Practices of South Hardwick PCN. Attendance is by appointment only. Please do not turn up unless you have an appointment, you will not be able to get a vaccine.

Please DO NOT call us about your vaccination. We are working through the NHS England priority groups and will call you when it is your turn to be vaccinated.

Patients aged 80 or over, care home staff and healthcare staff are the first priority groups for vaccinations, and these will be broadened once more vaccine becomes available.

Everyone has an important part to play and we are asking people to remember the following:

please don’t contact the NHS to seek a vaccine, we will contact you;

when we do contact you, please attend your booked appointments;

and please continue to follow all the guidance to control the virus and save lives.

If you have elderly relatives that you will need to bring to the vaccination centre please discuss with them how you might arrange this. We have had quite a few elderly people who have said they cannot take an appointment offered because they don’t want to put people out to take them. If they know your availability in advance this will save on delays in getting them vaccinated.

Please see the Joined Up Care Derbyshire website for the latest updates on the coronavirus vaccine procedure in our area.
