If you’re planning to travel outside the UK, you may need to be vaccinated against some of the serious diseases found in other parts of the world.
Vaccinations are available to protect you against infections such as, typhoid and hepatitis A.
In the UK, the childhood vaccination programme protects you against a number of diseases, but doesn’t cover most of the infectious diseases found overseas.
Arranging Travel Immunisations
Travel immunisations are available by prior arrangement. Please ask for a Travel Health Questionnaire from reception or print off the form here.
If you require any travel vaccinations please contact the surgery at least 10 weeks before you travel. A receptionist will send you a travel health form to complete electronically and if we have a suitable appointment before you travel they will book you with the Practice Nurse.
We require the form at least 10 weeks before you travel to allow us to organise your vaccinations and ensure you are fully protected by the time you leave the UK.
Please note that charges may apply for certain travel vaccinations as they are not covered by NHS. You will be advised in advance of your appointment of any costs involved and asked to bring payment with you prior to your appointment.
We are unable to offer travel vaccination appointments at very short notice so you may have to attend a private clinic for these. Please see details of these clinics below:
