Online Access

Information about Online Access

At Staffa Health we would like to get as many patients using online facilities as possible.

Online access allows patients to:

  • Order repeat prescriptions
  • Book and cancel appointments (where available)
  • View their medical records including consultation information, test results and documents.

We encourage you to use online facilities to order repeat prescriptions and manage appointments where you can.

How to access online services

There are different options for patients to access online information and GP services. The two main ones for Staffa Health patients are:

The NHS APP – This is an App used with a smartphone or tablet. There is no need to contact us to register. Set up is quick and simple and most people have their access approved within 2 hours and it doesn’t need to involve the practice. Visit https://www.nhs.uk/nhs-app/ to find out more and get set up.

A patient guide to help you with signing up for and using the NHS App can be viewed here: The NHS App – a patient guide.

SystmOnline / Airmid – This is also a website and smartphone or tablet App. The SystmOnline website and Aimid App can be access here: https://tpp-uk.com/products/systmonline/

There are other third party applications that patients can choose to use if they wish to.

For more information about Online Access use and registration please read the following patient information leaflet.

If you are having problems getting access to the NHS App or another online App and have been told you require a password, linkage Key and/or ODS code please complete the following application form and present it to the receptionist or email it to [email protected]. It should be accompanied by two forms of ID one which has a photograph and another that has proof of your address. A photograph of your ID sent by email is acceptable.

Automatic Access to the full medical record from the 1st November 2023

From the 1st of November 2023 patients who are registered with the NHS App or another online access App will see their full medical record by default. This includes their consultation information, test results and documents e.g. hospital letters. This will apply to all patients and there is no need to request this full access from the practice.

There are some patients for whom access to their medical record online would present a risk, for example patients at risk of domestic violence or patients with serious mental health conditions. To safeguard these patients from that risk the practice has identified those patients and the access to this information has been withheld. If you find that you are unable to access your full medical record after the 1st of November 2023 and you would like to see this information please complete the form below and your request will be reviewed for you.

Opting out of full medical records access

There are some patients for whom access to their full medical record online will not be suitable and there are also patients who will not wish to see this information. If you do not wish to see your full medical record online you can opt out of this, but still use an app to order prescriptions and book appointments etc. If you would like to opt out please complete the form below and email it to [email protected].

Proxy access to medical records

It is possible to set up a patients’ account to be accessed by another person. This may be helpful for people who would like to help a friend or relative they care for order their prescriptions for example.

If you wish to apply for proxy access to another persons medical records please download and return the following form to us. Please note that both patients need to be registered at the same GP surgery.
